Sorry if some of these are for the 'older' people who are blogging, but this is my era. Have fun!
1) Since 1970, three left-handers have won the NBA most valuable player award. Who are they?
2) Can you name one team-mate of Larry Bird's at Indiana State university?
3) Who was the last switch-hitting MVP in the American League? and, Who was the last pitcher to win MVP in the National League?
4) Seven teams in the four major sports have team nicknames that do not end in 'S'. Who are they?
5) Who made the game-winning jumper for Notre Dame when they broke UCLA's 88 game winning streak?
6) What team upset Ralph Sampson and the Virginia Cavaliers at the Maui Invitational?
7) I am the only player ever to lead the NBA in scoring and assists in the same season. Who am I?
8) I won the National League MVP award while driving in only 76 runs. Who am I? What team did I play for? and What year did i do this?
9) I have scored the most points ever in an NCAA Tournament game.(61) I also have five of the top twelve scoring games. (52,52,47,45) Who am I? and, What school did I play for?

13) What four pitchers each won at least twenty games in the same season for the Baltimore Orioles?
Thanks for the trivia, dnkascher -and also to Metswon. Is it me or are the blogs around here getting more and more creative? It's an amusing group synergy that, in my opinion, has raised the level of overall quality on all blogs. Keep up the great work everybody!
#4 Teams are:
NHL- Tampa Bay Lightning
NHL- Colorado Avalanche
NHL- Minnesota Wild
MLB- Boston Red Sox
MLB- Chicago White Sox
NBA- Miami Heat
NBA- Orlando Magic
NBA- Utah Jazz
Wow I actually named eight! Do I get a bonus prize?
Slightly out of my era, I don't have clue on most. Here are my stabs:
1) I figure Artis Gilmore for one...don't know the others
2) No, I can't name a Bird Teammate (HA!)
3) Mickey Mantle? Dennis Eckersley?
4) Heat, Jazz, a bunch of hockey team I don't know
7) Oscar Robertson
8) Daryl Strawberry
13) Jim Palmer was one. Don't know the others...but is this the group that went with a 4 man rotation, instead of 5.
#2 Rod McNelly, Steve Reed, Carl Nicks, Scott Turner, Rich Nemcek, Tom Crowder, Larry Bird, Eric Curry, Brad Miley, Alex Gilbert, Bob Heaton, Leroy Staley, Bob Ritter
nogimes, great job! I'm not even going to look them up. I only knew two off the top of my head. Take a stab at the others. Was this your team. I'm a DePaul fan and that game between us was a classic!
DanMcGowan, Bird was righty. Sure you just had a brain cramp. Mantle, no. Gibson, yes. Clay, yes. Oscar Robertson, no. Palmer, McNally, yes. Keep the guesses coming.
thanks, these are great. i'm pretty sure Bird's sportcentury says he was left handed but I never really saw him play, so who knows.
plus I don't want to ruin everyones fun but I had to look up who the last switch hitting mvp was and that's a great question. props to anyone who figures it out.

This contribution is coming from a guy who knows him some Larry Bird:
Actually, Larry Bird is ambidextrous. He eats and writes with his left hand and plays sports with his right. This is probably why he was so adept at using his left hand when needed on the court (that and he practiced it).
Are you saying Robinson is correct for number 1, but not number 9. I was waiting to try to come up with the other 2 for left handed MVP's, but he is definitely one of them.
For #8 is that the fewest RBI for an MVP? Or did you just pick one guy and throw his rbi total out there. Barry Larkin did not drive in many runs during his stint as MVP candidate. I think he won it for the Reds in 91 and probably had under 100 rbi.
pup017, Robinson is correct for #1, not #9. Larkin had 15 HR's and 66 RBI when he won. He was a shortstop. Let's just say the player I'm thinking of plays a position you would expect higher numbers from. Ironically, the year after Larkin won it he hit 33 HR's and drove in 89 runs, but did not win it.
Noahpinto, that is the best name. Funny, I was just glancing at Pulp Fiction (after I did the question) and noticed John Travolta was wearing a UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs t-shirt in the movie. Any guesses on the other questions?
Dudski, Eddie Murray and Maddux are incorrect. Dantley is incorrect. #4, I was talking about the four major pro sports. #6, #12, and #13 are correct. Take a few more guesses. I'm probably putting the answers up tomorrow. Thanks for participating. See ya!
My name is Dan Kascher and I'm a Chicagoan through and through. I'm a North Side White Sox fan, Bears fan, Bulls fan, Notre Dame fan and Depaul fan. My favorite players are Frank Thomas, Scottie Pippen and Mark Aguirre. Yeah, I know, three malcontents! My problem with sportswriting and fan blogging is the negativity and bickering back and forth. I don't have to rip into anybody or any team to get my point across. Good luck to all!
